We are seeking a mid-level Back End Java Engineer to join our team at DevOpsUK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems for our clients. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and technologies, and will be expected to take on a leadership role within the team. We are looking for someone with strong experience in Java and a track record of delivering high-quality, scalable solutions. You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, maintainable backend systems using Java
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Mentor junior engineers and help drive technical direction within the team
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java
- Strong understanding of computer science principles and data structures
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers is a plus
