We have a unique opportunity to become involved in the production of documents in accessible formats for the blind and visually impaired. Paragon are looking for a Transcription Services Administrator for our Dagenham location which houses over 500 employees. As a business we provide communications solutions for our clients who then interact with their customer. One of the services we provide is to turn information into braille and audio for the deaf and blind community and to design documents they can access to suit their needs.
The Transcriptions team are looking for someone to join them who has solid administration skills, ideally someone who has had experience designing documents previously and with a strong eye for detail as everything would need to be proofread thoroughly before it goes out to the public domain. The role will involve formatting and producing a range of documentation in 3 accessible formats: Large Print, Braille and Audio.
- Large Print: Create a WORD document from accessible pdf’s, then a large print template which will be used to produce large print documents for output, proof check and correct final work ready for mailing.
- Braille: Produce a WORD document from an accessible pdf for translation into Braille using the Duxbury Braille software, emboss, check and mail.
- Audio: Create a WORD document from an accessible pdf, mark up using the Linguatec software to produce mp3 files to be burned onto a CD.
Although there is a degree of administration and file management required, this is not a standard office administration role. Full training will be provided. 100% Office based role, based at the Dagenham site.
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8.00am to 4.00pm (Free on-site parking)
