The Role
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager with strong content instincts to lead and grow a premium retail/lifestyle brand’s social presence across Instagram and TikTok (and other relevant platforms as they emerge). This role sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and hands-on execution. You’ll take ownership of social planning while actively creating content that feels culturally relevant, brand-aligned, and engaging.
- Own and manage the social media calendar with a clear focus on the spring–summer peak
- Plan content around campaigns, product drops, collaborations, and cultural moments
- Apply platform-specific thinking (what works on TikTok vs Instagram)
- Drive engagement and audience growth, not just output
- Work closely with founders, filmmakers, editors, and photographers
- Help shape briefs for campaigns, drops, and collaborations
- Guide teams on what content is needed from shoots to perform well on social
- Ensure shoots deliver social-first assets, not just hero content
Content Creation
- Independently shoot and edit content between larger campaigns (phone-first is fine)
- Generate and execute ideas including:
- Founder-led content
- Behind-the-scenes storytelling
- Product-focused narratives
- Trips, market visits, studio moments, and cultural references
Who We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing Instagram and TikTok for brands
- Confident shooting and editing content independently
- Strong understanding of how to build engagement and community
- Strategic thinker who enjoys being hands-on
- Comfortable working closely with founders and creative teams
- Culturally aware, curious, and aligned with a premium lifestyle brand
- Proactive, self-directed, and confident driving ideas forward
Contract & Timing
- Freelance / contract role
- Summer is the busiest period, but there is potential for long-term continuation
- Off-season work will focus on planning, experimentation, and developing new content ideas
- We’re looking for someone who brings energy and ideas year-round, not just in peak season
