Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of business services and workplace solutions based in Ashton-under-Lyne, is looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to join their IT department.
The IT Infrastructure Manager will be based in the office full-time.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure day-to-day service availability and maintenance of all IT infrastructure services.
- Manage the deliverables of the IT Infrastructure team.
- Evaluate services, plan, and manage improvements.
- Train and develop direct reports.
- Maintain communication rooms and services, ensuring power supply.
- Oversee security services such as firewalls, penetration testing, and compliance updates.
- Plan and conduct team meetings and workshops.
- Participate in and serve as an escalation point for out-of-hours support.
- Ensure infrastructure coverage, including shift and out-of-hours rota.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Professional IT qualifications in IT infrastructure fields with significant experience as an IT Engineer/Administrator.
- Leadership experience or relevant management training/certifications.
- Academic achievement at least at A Level standard; degree preferred.
- Full UK driving license.
Technical/Management Knowledge:
- Wide Area Network solutions.
- Operating systems (primarily Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022).
- Hardware including servers, SAN, switches, and wireless.
- Microsoft services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, RDS, NPS).
- Dynamics 365 printing services.
