Overview
A fantastic opportunity to join one of Paragon\’s Customer Communication Client sites, based in Castleford as an Account Manager. Reporting into the Client Services Manager, the Account Manager is responsible for proactively managing a nominated set of customer accounts that will contribute to the departmental sales budget for the financial year.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am – 2:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- To proactively engage with customers to help PTSL achieve budgeted sales input levels (correct mix of work and at required margin levels).
- To seek opportunities to win new and repeat business from nominated accounts
- To be technically up to date with the Optimus system and capable of; Estimating (Repeat jobs), Order Processing (Manufactured with Outwork and Traded orders), Stored Job Processing, Supplier Requisitions, NCR Processing
- Monitor order acknowledgements, lead times and production queue to make sure customer orders are delivered on time
- Liaise with various internal teams such as Warehouse / Supply chain / Production Planning / Sales regarding the work in progress
- Be able to train other members of the client services team to take over the management of your nominated accounts so that cover is available in periods of sickness or holiday.
- Be able to identify when a visit to the customer is required by Sales Director, Client Services Manager or General Manager. A visit may be required for review purposes or for new business opportunities
- To understand and ensure that customers are fully aware of PTSL/Paragon Group product and service offering
- To proactively follow up quotations in a timely manner and use your skills, knowledge and discretion to win orders in accordance with company guidelines.
- To proactively pass on additional charges for non-quoted extras such as Artwork charges, AM or Timed deliveries, expedited deliveries etc
- Serve as the main point of contact and source of information for and from external customers and any escalation for nominated accounts
- Carry out specific project work as required and constantly seek to make continuous improvement to procedures and personal/team operation
- To minimise cost and improve margin wherever possible within agreed customer service levels
Skills and Attributes
- Experience and good knowledge within the Print and Direct mail industry within an account management / client services environment
- Ability and willingness to win/influence business through excellent communication skills (primarily telephone based)
- Excellent telephone manner with customer friendly attitude and ability to communicate in spoken and written form with customer
- Fast and accurate data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to participate in Customer Meetings where occasional travel may be required.
- Resilient and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Ability to adapt to incoming software/hardware and procedural developments, strong command of Microsoft Excel and Word and E-mail packages
- Ability to be proactive and continuously identify improved ways of performing your role.
