If you are an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure we have a new role we would like to discuss with you. Please note this role requires onsite attendance 3-4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Azure Platform and Cloud Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and manage core infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, prioritising Azure Fabric, Storage, Networking, and Compute.
- Plan and execute migration of on-premises applications and web services to Azure, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity, access, and hybrid directory services.
- Implement and manage Azure API Management (APIM) for secure and scalable service integration.
- Optimise and govern Azure subscriptions for performance, cost, and compliance.
- Data, Analytics, and Fabric Integration
- Support and manage Microsoft Fabric environments, enabling secure and efficient data movement.
- Work with Power BI to deliver secure, compliant business reporting and analytics solutions.
- Integrate AI Foundry and other Azure services to enhance analytics, automation, and decision-making.
- Security and Compliance
- Implement and maintain Microsoft Defender suite (Cloud, Endpoint, Identity, and Office 365).
- Apply Zero Trust, conditional access, and least privilege principles across Azure and hybrid environments.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Purview for compliance, governance, and data classification.
- Conduct security reviews, risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Automation, Monitoring, and Reporting
- Develop automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Sentinel.
- Produce regular reports for the Infrastructure Manager on Azure usage, Fabric performance, licensing, spending and security posture.
- Licensing, Billing, and Governance
- Manage Azure licensing, billing, and cost optimisation, ensuring resources are efficiently utilised.
- Work with finance and procurement to forecast spend and manage subscription entitlements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cloud environments, configurations, and governance standards.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong, hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure architecture, administration, and governance.
- Proven experience migrating applications, web services, and data platforms from on-premises to Azure.
- Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, including data pipelines, integration, and security management.
- Skilled in Power BI deployment, access control, and workspace governance.
- Experience with AI Foundry, API Management, and data integration services.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Defender, and Purview.
- Experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Knowledge of Azure licensing, billing, and cost management principles.
