We have a fantastic opportunity at Bolton Abbey for a Casual Visitor Welcome Assistant. This is a varied, customer-facing role combining outdoor and indoor work across the estate, including car parks, shops and, during high season, the ice cream kiosk. You will act as a welcoming point of contact for visitors to Bolton Abbey, assisting with car parking, estate knowledge, hospitality and purchasing. Employment will be on a casual basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Car Park
- To open and lock the car parks and toilets.
- To provide a friendly, warm, and helpful welcome to visitors.
- To litter pick.
- To maintain constant vigilance and awareness in order to provide safety and security to the Estate, the people who live and work on it and those visiting it.
- Shops
- To open and close the shop(s).
- To operate the till and serve customers.
- To assist with stock takes, replenish stock and maintain accurate stock records.
- To assist visitors with the purchasing of season tickets and management of their account using the iPad.
- Ice Cream Kiosk (high season only)
- To open and close the kiosk.
- To provide a friendly, warm, and helpful welcome to visitors and to provide advice and information about what visitors can see and enjoy on the estate.
- To operate the till and serve customers.
The successful candidate will be friendly, personable, and able to offer excellent levels of customer service. You will be comfortable using IT systems (e.g. car park machine, till). You will have a full driver’s licence.
