If you want to work in a friendly and inclusive environment, then we have just the role for you, with hours and days to suit your availability as described below.

As Kitchen Porter, you will ensure that a clean, hygienic environment is maintained in the kitchen by cleaning surfaces and maintaining order. You will also provide an adequate supply of clean pans, crockery and cutlery. Flexibility is essential in this role and you should be willing to help out in other areas of the catering department including assisting the chefs with basic food preparation.

You should be able to work quickly and efficiently, be self-motivated, with the ability to work well under pressure. Ideally, you will have a food hygiene certificate with previous experience of working in a busy restaurant kitchen, but this is not essential as full training will be provided.

Our seasonal permanent roles (during the main house open period) will include weekends, with the occasional need for additional hours in busy periods. Casual hours are offered on an as and when required basis.

In return, we can offer you the opportunity to work in the beautiful surroundings of Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire, an employee assistance programme, uniform allowance, and an estate pass providing discounts in our retail and catering outlets, hotels and free entry to annual events such as the Chatsworth Country Show and much more.

Our core values include “Being Inclusive” and we particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates who are currently under-represented. We also welcome applicants from the LGBTQ+ community. Flexible ways of working will always be considered.

Please indicate your availability and if you wish to be considered for a seasonal permanent role or casual role within your application. Applications will be reviewed as submitted and the advert may close earlier than the advertised closing date, therefore we recommend early submission.
