Working closely with our Head Baker and Product Developer, you’ll play a key role in developing recipes and processes, launching new products and working with our existing team to support consistent 7-day a week production through training and coaching. This is a hands-on role, with a strong focus on product development, process control and consistency. You’ll have the freedom to develop a core range, set up a dependable production system, create scalable methods and embed best practice across the team.
What we’re looking for:
- Commercial experience producing sourdough in a professional bakery environment
- Ability to advise on equipment requirements and working practices
- Excellent hygiene, food safety and allergen awareness
- Confidence in training colleagues and embedding consistent methods
- Someone who will relish the challenge of creating something new
The role is permanent and 40 hours per week. Working pattern is flexible and will be agreed with the successful candidate. The role will likely involve early starts and/or night work to meet production requirements.
In return, we can offer you a competitive salary (to be reviewed April 2026), the opportunity to work in the beautiful surroundings of Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire, a pension scheme, an employee assistance programme, and an estate pass providing discounts in our retail and catering outlets, hotels and free entry to annual events such as the Chatsworth Country Show and much more.
Our core values include “Being Inclusive” and we particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates who are currently under-represented. We also welcome applicants from the LGBTQ+ community. Flexible ways of working will always be considered.
