The Role

As a Production Support Operative, you'll be at the core of maintaining operational excellence at one of the UK's most critical defence sites. You'll work hands‑on with specialist cleaning equipment and chemicals to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. This is a vital role that supports the wider engineering and nuclear operations, helping to keep our submarines and naval assets mission ready. Day‑to‑day, you'll use cleaning chemicals and equipment while ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Using specialist cleaning chemicals and equipment to maintain plant and facilities
  • Cleaning and decontaminating sensitive areas across the site
  • Operating industrial cleaning machinery safely and efficiently
  • Following strict health and safety protocols at all times

This role is full time, 35 hours per week, and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Experience

  • Willingness to work at height and in confined spaces
  • Positive attitude towards health and safety, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and follow detailed procedures

Qualifications

  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Counterbalance FLT licence is desirable, but training will be provided
  • MEWP operator certification or willingness to train

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
