Reporting and control. You'll also lead and develop a team of finance professionals, ensuring accurate financial insight supports key business decisions while contributing to the success of major Ministry of Defence contracts.

Leading financial management, forecasting and reporting for the Naval Nuclear Corporate Services contract. Driving strong financial governance, compliance and control across business activities. Managing financial oversight of Group recharges and associated reporting processes. Coaching and developing a team of functional cost accountants to deliver high-quality financial support. Collaborating with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for performance improvement and implement effective action plans.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and operates on a hybrid working basis, requiring attendance at the office/on-site for a minimum of 1 to 2 days per quarter, as required. Employees are responsible for the cost of travel to and from HMNB Devonport irrespective of where they are based.

Essential experience:

  • Extensive senior finance leadership experience across business operations, corporate finance and complex contract environments.
  • Strong expertise in financial accounting, governance, statutory reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrable success improving finance processes, reporting quality, financial controls and business performance.
  • Experience leading and developing geographically dispersed teams through change and transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.

Qualifications:

  • Professionally qualified accountant such as: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Associate Chartered Accountant, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
