Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are looking for a Service Delivery Support Administration Assistant to join our team, working part time (22.2 hours per week – 3 days, flexible with the hiring manager). This is a permanent contract based at our Service Training Centre in Plympton.

Salary: £26,824 – £28,598 (gross) per annum, pro rata. For 22.2 hours per week this equates to £16,094 – £17,158 (gross) per annum.

As the largest non‑metropolitan Fire and Rescue Service in England, we protect communities across Devon and Somerset through prevention, protection and emergency response.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to Service Delivery teams (Protection, Response and Training).
  • Manage enquiries and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain spreadsheets, databases and performance reports.
  • Support meetings – scheduling, resources, documentation and tech support.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and financial processes (including procurement cards).
  • Update communication channels such as MS Teams.
  • Support operational teams and departmental projects.
  • Help monitor returns, inventories and reporting processes.
