Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a competent Firefighter
  • Completed an Integrated Communications System (ICS) course or pre-incident command review
  • Have good leadership skills
  • Not subject to formal performance improvement actions, nor have any live disciplinary sanctions
  • Discussed the opportunity with your Line Manager
  • Live or work within a 5 minute response to the Station
  • Whilst it is desirable, it is not essential to have attended a Leading Others Assessment Centre

From 1 April 2024, we are introducing development rates of pay for any new individuals moving into a development or an acting-up role. These pay rates are set out by the National Joint Council.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of an initial shortlisting process followed by an interview.
