Overview
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Information Security Officer to join our Information, Data and Governance Team, working within our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) department. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £38,220 – £40,777 (gross) per annum. The role is based at our Service Headquarters in Exeter, but there is some flexibility in working locations that can be discussed with the successful candidate. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is the largest non-metropolitan fire and rescue service in England. We provide prevention, protection and response services across the counties of Devon and Somerset. Responsibilities
- Championing security by design, completed Technical Security Assessments for new software requires and other initiatives as part of the Service change programme.
- Responding to and monitoring the threat landscape, investigating security events and making recommendations for mitigation.
- Auditing against ISO27001 baseline control set.
- Delivering training and awareness, including leading on simulated phishing campaigns.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have a foundational qualification in ICT and demonstrable experience of working within the specialist discipline of information and cyber security. In addition, a working knowledge within the field of data protection will be an advantage.
- A good customer service approach to work and the ability to develop good working relationships with computer users.
- Have an organised approach to work and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to work to standards and produce appropriate documentation.
- An expert knowledge of modern ICT methodologies technologies
- A sound knowledge of information security methodologies
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
