The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

The Service has a permanent Crew Manager Training Academy – Training Delivery Instructor post. The appointed individual is expected to remain in any permanent role for a minimum of 12 months, unless promoted. This position aligns to the day duty system (DDS) and includes a 12% training allowance payable after a period of development in post.

Role Profile

Focused primarily on Breathing Apparatus training and supporting Maritime training delivery. The role may require support at Severn Park and other locations across the Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating an environment where everyone feels safe to learn, promoting values and the code of ethics.
  • Acquiring and maintaining the ability to deliver all courses across the Academy.
  • Implementing effective training and development activities.
  • Being highly motivated, self‑driven, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Being willing to work flexibly to meet the Training Academy commitments.
  • Performing other duties appropriate to the post within the context of the National Occupational Standard Role Map for a Crew Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Competent substantive Firefighter who has succeeded in the Crew Manager promotion board or a substantive whole‑time Crew Manager.
  • ITOP or Qualified L1 Industrial Classification system (ICS) certification.
  • No formal performance improvement actions or live disciplinary sanctions.
  • Applicants must disclose any criminal convictions (spent or unspent). Positive disclosures will be handled proportionately.
  • Breathing Apparatus Instructor (BAI), Compartment Fire Behaviour Training Instructor (CFBTI), Adult Education Trainer (AET) or equivalent.
