Role Overview

We are recruiting experienced Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioners with significant post‑qualifying experience to join our dynamic team in the Torbay Liaison Psychiatry Service.

Applicants may apply for part‑time or full‑time contracts and the service supports flexible working arrangements.

Three permanent posts and one fixed‑term post are available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist mental health assessment and intervention 24/7, covering night duties on a rolling rota.
  • Develop and implement individual recovery plans, manage risk and facilitate discharge from acute care pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, external agencies and patients’ families to deliver coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, provide supervision to junior staff and support professional development within the team.
  • Contribute to service policy, audit, research and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Professional mental health qualification (e.g. RMN, CQSW/ASW, BSc/Diploma in OT, SROT).
  • Current registration with a professional body (e.g. NMC).
  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to specialism.

Experience

  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary, multi‑agency environment.
  • Assessment experience, particularly in mental health and risk management.
  • Working within community mental health settings, statutory or voluntary sector.
  • Experience in primary care or GP practice settings preferred.
