About this Role
Brixington Primary Academy are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individual to work alongside the class teacher across all areas of the curriculum.
This role is to start as soon as possible and is fixed term until 31 August 2027.
- Build a strong, trusting relationship with a pupil who requires consistent, nurturing and emotionally attuned adult support to engage successfully in school.
- Support emotional regulation throughout the school day, using co-regulation strategies, sensory approaches and calm, predictable routines.
- Use visual supports, clear communication and structured transitions to help the pupil understand expectations and access learning.
- Adapt learning activities to the pupil's interests, engagement levels and preferred multi-sensory learning styles, working closely with the class teacher and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo).
- Facilitate positive social interaction with peers, modelling communication skills, turn-taking and co-operative play.
- Provide regular sensory and movement breaks, maintaining a safe environment and responding flexibly to changing emotional and sensory needs.
