As a Short Term Services Support Worker, you will support people who have experienced a change in their independence. You will help them rebuild their confidence, achieve personal goals, and regain the skills they need to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

We’re looking for caring, motivated, and compassionate Short Term Services Support Workers to join our friendly and supportive team across Exeter, East Devon, and Mid Devon.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work one-to-one with people in their own homes, helping them take positive steps towards greater independence.

No two days are the same. You could be:

  • Supporting individuals with personal care
  • Encouraging people to develop everyday living skills
  • Helping clients achieve personal goals that matter to them
  • Using practical techniques and specialist equipment to promote independence
  • Working closely with colleagues and other professionals to deliver outstanding support

Most importantly, you'll empower people to do as much as they can for themselves, helping them regain confidence, independence and quality of life.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for people who:

  • Are caring, patient and passionate about helping others
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Are committed to equality, diversity and providing excellent customer service
  • Are comfortable using digital devices and mobile technology (full training provided)

Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.

We offer:

  • Full training in social care reablement is provided with uniform, mobile phone, and tablet
  • Weekly hours guaranteed.
  • Regular supervision, appraisals, and team meetings.
  • Mileage paid at 45p per mile, and travel time between visits is paid.
  • Paid annual leave starts at 26 days per year.
  • Starting salary starts at £25,760 per year (pro-rata)
  • Rising to £27,476 per year (pro-rata) after two years
  • 35% enhancement for weekday evenings (8pm to 9pm) and Saturdays.
  • 69% enhancement for Sundays and public holidays.

Working Hours

We have varying hours, which include mornings, evenings, split shifts, and alternate weekends, offering flexibility alongside guaranteed hours.
