We’re seeking Residential Care Workers to join our team supporting students (aged 9-25) to develop independent living skills while supporting their education.
The role will be in either our new adult residential centre, or on-site residential flats at the academy.
Both locations are based in Exmouth, a short walk from the beach.
Overview

You’ll support our young people in developing independent living skills and organise social activities in the local community, trips to the beach, cinema, bowling, and travel further afield.
Students split time between school/college and residential care flats, with shifts outside of traditional school hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and support to residents, helping them build independent living skills and participate in education and work placements as applicable.
- Plan and organise social activities locally and further afield, including trips to community venues and the beach.
- Support within school or college settings and collaborate with staff to ensure developmental progress for residents.
- Be flexible to shift patterns and contribute to a positive, nurturing living environment.
- Shift pattern
- There are 2 teams, each working 42 hours per week. Details can be discussed at interview:
- Two teams sharing a 2-week rota including weekends, with some evenings and sleep-ins; 1 in every 2 weekends during term.
- A team working Monday to Friday across morning and afternoon/evening hours.

*This position is term-time plus 5 training days.
Minimum salary for this role without sleep-ins is £24,823 per annum (Mon-Fri shift pattern).
Salary with sleep-ins may be up to £28,471 per annum (maximum sleep-ins for full shift pattern), or £30,646 per annum at top of the pay scale.
We have multiple roles available to start in September and will shortlist on a rolling basis. The Academy may close or amend the advert before the closing date.
