Overview
Sidmouth College is seeking enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Learning Mentors/Teaching Assistants to support the Student Support Department. This is a term-time only, part-time post with school hours, five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Support access to learning by assisting students under the instruction and guidance of teaching and senior staff.
- Undertake work, care and support programmes to enable students to participate in lessons and activities, which may take place in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
- Promote high expectations of all students and build positive relationships with students, parents, teachers and other professionals.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Ability to use initiative, strong communication skills, professionalism and a high standard of education.
- Willingness to work within a term-time, school-hour framework and to contribute to a supportive learning environment.
The post holder will work under the instruction of teaching/senior staff and will be expected to support teachers in managing students and the classroom.
