This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to manage a key role within Devon County Council's Transport Coordination Service. We are looking for an individual to be our Head of Transport Operations leading teams delivering Home to School transport, Adult & Child Social Care Transport, Fleet Management and Non Emergency Patient Transport on behalf of the NHS.
You will need detailed knowledge of local authority passenger transport operations and legislation, national developments and opportunities and have significant experience of working in the sector from a local authority or transport provider background.
The post holder will be responsible for guiding and leading a number of teams, working closely with our Deputy Director for Transport, Environment & Waste and Public Transport Manager on opportunities and challenges from the future reorganisation of Local Government in Devon.
The successful postholder will use their strong interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships internally and externally and will have experience of communicating with elected politicians, transport operators, the public and other partners.
