St David's Primary School is seeking a dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. Our vision and values, rooted in Christian principles, create a nurturing, ambitious and inclusive learning environment for all. We are looking for someone who can bring energy, compassion and commitment to the role. This position will provide cover for teachers during PPA and leadership time.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes.
- Support teachers by helping create an engaging learning environment and preparing resources.
- Monitor, assess and record pupils' progress, providing detailed feedback and evidence.
- Lead small-group interventions and support delivery of literacy, numeracy and other curriculum strategies.
- Contribute to out-of-school learning activities as required.
- Provide cover for teachers during PPA and leadership time.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience working with children across key stages.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor delivering whole-class activities.
- English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous HLTA experience.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training.
- First Aid qualification.
- Awareness of health and safety practices.
