Do you have the skills and experience to support young deaf adults with additional needs towards their next steps and independence? We are seeking a part‑time teacher to work two days a week as part of a job share alongside an outstanding teacher.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • Plan and deliver a sequence of learning to Post 16 and Post 19 students.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards within the Academy.
  • Be a positive role model and consistently demonstrate the positive attitudes, values and behaviours expected of students.
  • Build good working relationships with the whole team and identify opportunities for collaboration and sharing effective practice.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of planning and delivering successful teaching that improves outcomes for learners with additional needs.
  • Experience of providing effective support for learners with complex needs is desirable.
  • Ability to form and maintain positive and effective relationships with students, colleagues, parents and other professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within the Academy and other professionals.

Additional Requirements

  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to ensure best outcomes for students.
  • An enhanced DBS check is required.
  • The Academy is a Disability Committed Employer promoting diversity and inclusion for all students and staff, and is signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant to support ex‑service personnel.
  • Prior experience of BSL is not essential but favoured.

Salary range: £12,104 – £19,631.20 actual salary (equivalent to £32,918 – £54,307 for full time).
