Base pay range Salary: ÂŁ36,630 rising to ÂŁ40,893 per annum + Excellent Benefits including Government Pension Location: Exeter Police Station Hours per week: This role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need. About this role: An exciting opportunity has come up to join our Imaging Team here at South West Forensics! Digital Forensics is one of the most rewarding areas of policing to work in, involving the investigation of cutting-edge technology used in the commission of, or witness to, all levels of criminality. The principal responsibility is to provide specialist centralised Regional Imaging Hub (film and digital) Laboratory and forensic Imaging services (forensic virtualisation and crime scene reconstruction) to the SW Regional Force (Devon & Cornwall, Avon & Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset Police). In particular to: Capturing, editing, enhancing, producing and publishing as necessary evidential images taken at or seized from crime scenes. Attending crime scenes to capture images and data for crime scene and incident reconstruction. Upholding a comprehensive maintenance and repair service of specialist camera equipment, and to decide, to advise and purchase appropriate equipment. Providing subject matter expertise in the provision of evidential presentations that include, but are not limited to: The sanitisation of images depicting death and violence, alongside the creation of virtual/interactive digital mannequins which display complex injuries to victims of crime sustaining significant, life changing and life ending injuries. This provides sanitized vital evidence for major operation court packages. Producing computer-generated forensic crime scene reconstructions & 360 degree panoramic imagery, into digital formats that can be utilised in investigations, court and multimedia packages. Designing, developing and delivering specialist training packages to all Crime Scene Investigators, in order to maintain their competencies in the collection of vital crime scene evidence. This includes the analysis and evaluation of their performance, and to standardise best practice and procedures. The postholder may be required undertake other duties which are not necessarily specified on the role profile, but which are commensurate with the role. In addition, there is a function intrinsic to this role.
