It is a mandatory requirement that a Special Constable will complete 16 hours a month on average a year, every year. This is 200 hours in total per year.

About the role:

Special constables are volunteer police officers who give their spare time to police their communities. This volunteer role gives you the chance to work alongside regular police officers and staff, bring your life skills and experiences and give something back to this beautiful part of the world. It’s not all glamorous, but it is rewarding. You’ll need to be able to give at least 16 hours of your time each month. Once trained, you will have the same powers as a regular police officer helping to protect and support the people who live in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
