Due to internal promotion, Devon Air Ambulance are seeking to recruit an additional HEMS Line Pilot to join our experienced Flight Operations Team. This role is initially a fixed term contract with the potential of becoming a full time permanent contract.

Hours: Full time roster in accordance with the Company Approved FTL Scheme
Location: Airbase – Exeter*/Eaglescott (North Devon)
Duration: Initially offered as a 12 month fixed term contract, with the potential of becoming a full time permanent contract
Salary: Starting salary of £77,000 per annum FTE.

Further enhancements may be payable for additional desirable qualifications e.g. dual type rating. Please see table below regarding pay for enhancements. Increments awarded for HEMS experience based on service up to a maximum of £10,000 per annum.

The Role

We have a new vacancy for a HEMS Line Pilot to join our Flight Operations team at DAA on an initial 12 month fixed term contract. This role will report to the Head of Flight Operations / Senior Pilot and will work on a single pilot operation on behalf of Devon Air Ambulance Trading Company. Our line pilots engage with day and night operations within an approved FTL shift pattern, ensuring the team are ready to respond to the people in Devon. The shifts will typically be 4 on 4 off and will be a mixture of day and night shifts.

The Candidate

We are seeking a candidate who is an experienced H145 or EC135 line pilot. You will have experience within HEMS or similar emergency services, and hold a UK CAA APTL (H)/CPL (H)/IR. The ideal candidate will have a total of 2000+ flying hours, and a minimum of 1000 hours PIC and 150 hours night with NVIS experience, and able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge of UK Air Regulations. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience of effectively leading the team when on duty.

The Package

Starting salary of £77,000 per annum FTE, plus potential further enhancements for desirable qualifications. Increments awarded for HEMS experience based on service up to a maximum of £10,000 per annum.
Plus an additional night shift allowance of £100 per shift.
