Devon Air Ambulance are seeking to recruit an additional HEMS Line Pilot to join our experienced Flight Operations Team.

Job Details

  • Hours: Full time roster in accordance with the Company Approved FTL Scheme
  • Location: Airbase - Exeter*/Eaglescott (North Devon)
  • Salary: Starting salary of £78,540 per annum FTE; potential enhancements up to £10,000 per annum and a night shift allowance of £102 per shift.
  • Enhancements: Further enhancements may be payable for additional desirable qualifications such as dual type rating.
  • Accommodation cannot currently be provided by DAA at the Exeter Airbase. Applicants must reside within a 45‑minute distance from the airbase or arrange and pay for suitable accommodation within 45 minutes for each shift run.
  • Type rating training can be offered depending on current experience and qualifications under a standard bonding agreement.

The Role

This role will report to the Head of Flight Operations / Senior Pilot and will work on a single pilot operation on behalf of Devon Air Ambulance Trading Company. Line pilots engage with day and night operations within an approved FTL shift pattern, ensuring the team is ready to respond to the people in Devon. Shifts will typically follow a 4 on/4 off pattern and include a mix of day and night duties.

Essential Requirements

  • Current UK CAA ATPL(H) or UK CAA CPL(H) with Instrument rating
  • Minimum 1500 hours as Pilot‑in‑command of aircraft
  • Minimum 500 hours as pilot‑in‑command on helicopters
  • 20 hours VFR at night as pilot‑in‑command
  • UK CAA Class 1 Medical

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • NVIS experience
  • EC135 or H145 type rating
