Job Title: Senior Development Manager Location: London (West London project site and Central London office) About the Company: We are working with a leading developer with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, landmark projects across London and the UK. They are currently undertaking an ambitious and exciting development in West London β almost 1000 new homes that will redefine the area and provide significant value to the community. They are committed to excellence, innovation, and sustainable development. The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Development Manager to lead the successful delivery of this major regeneration project from the detailed design stage through to completion and handover. This is a critical role that requires a proven ability to manage complex construction processes, stakeholders, and budgets on large-scale developments. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the project delivery phase, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Oversee the detailed design and technical coordination process, working closely with architects, engineers, and specialist consultants. Manage the procurement process for the main contractor and key sub-contractors, including contract negotiation and administration. Act as the primary point of contact for the main contractor, overseeing their performance and ensuring compliance with the contract terms and project requirements. Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies. Manage project budgets, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting. Ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations, planning conditions, and health and safety requirements. Lead and motivate the project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Effectively communicate project progress, key milestones, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders. Manage stakeholder relationships, including local authorities, utility providers, and community groups. Oversee the quality control process, ensuring the delivered product meets the company\βs standards and specifications. Manage the project handover process, including snagging, commissioning, and close-out procedures. About You: Proven experience (minimum 8-10 years) in managing the delivery of large-scale, complex development projects, with a strong focus on high-rise residential or mixed-use towers. Demonstrable experience in managing projects through the construction phase from detailed design to completion. Solid understanding of construction processes, contracts (JCT or similar), and procurement methods. Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. Strong technical understanding of building design and construction, including structural, M&E, and facade systems. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders. A proactive and problem-solving approach, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Strong leadership and team management skills. Relevant degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable. Experience working on projects in London is highly desirable.
