Estimator - Main Contractor London | Permanent | 50,000-90,000 DOE | Career Progression A growing main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join its commercial/pre-construction team on a long-term basis.
You'll be joining a busy team with a strong pipeline of work and will have the opportunity to take responsibility for multiple tenders at different stages.
The role will typically involve managing around 3-4 live tenders at any one time, working closely with the wider commercial and operational teams to develop competitive and commercially sound bids.
Key Responsibilities Managing and pricing live tenders from enquiry through to submission Taking ownership of multiple tenders simultaneously Preparing detailed and accurate estimates Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations Working closely with commercial and operational teams Identifying risks, opportunities and commercial considerations Maintaining accurate estimating spreadsheets and cost plans Supporting the wider pre-construction process Building strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers They are open to candidates from Intermediate Estimator through to Senior Estimator level, with the ideal candidate likely to have around 5 years+ experience within the construction industry.
You'll ideally have: Strong estimating experience within a main contracting environment Experience working on live tenders Excellent Excel and spreadsheet skills Strong commercial awareness The ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines Confidence working independently and taking ownership Strong attention to detail Good communication and negotiation skills Ambition to progress within a growing business Salary & Progression 50,000-90,000 depending on level and experience.
