The wider organisation is one of the most established names in large-scale, high-quality real estate development, with a diverse portfolio of landmark projects globally. This is a high-visibility role within a small, collaborative UK finance team. You will take ownership of the financial reporting and day-to-day finance operations for a number of UK entities and joint ventures, working closely with the Finance Director and partnering with teams both locally and overseas. The role demands a commercial mindset alongside strong technical capability, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders across the business. It is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, hands-on qualified accountant who enjoys variety, autonomy and direct involvement in complex group structures and high-value development projects.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Producing timely monthly management accounts for all relevant UK entities, including manual consolidations and equity accounting under IFRS.
- Preparing annual IFRS statutory accounts and lead schedules, and acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors - ensuring filings are completed accurately and to deadline.
- Producing monthly project status reports and co-ordinating closely with the wider group finance team.
- Leading the annual budgeting and re-forecasting process, including group finance templates, with ongoing monitoring of performance and variance analysis.
- Owning the day-to-day use of the group's ERP system, maintaining all modules (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger) in line with group IT and finance policies.
- Managing day-to-day treasury activity, including monthly debt and equity drawdowns, loan utilisation requests for development facilities, and ensuring approvals and payments run to a strict timetable.
- Overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable process across multiple UK entities and projects, from data entry through to payment runs and reconciliations.
- Supporting the Finance Director on Board proposals, finance recommendations, policy and procedure documentation, systems improvements and executive dashboards.
- Managing, mentoring and developing one qualified accountant, ensuring the team delivers to a consistently high standard.
Key Skills & Experience required
- ACA or ACCA fully qualified, with at least 3 years' post-qualified experience.
- Prior experience within the real estate sector - ideally including exposure to development projects, joint ventures and complex group structures.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, with working knowledge of UK / US GAAP.
- Proven experience of managing or mentoring at least one direct report.
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to handle complex models, consolidations and reporting.
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into clear insight for senior stakeholders.
- A hands-on, pragmatic approach - comfortable operating in a small team and balancing detailed delivery with broader oversight.
What's On Offer
- Base salary of £90,000.
- Discretionary bonus of c. 20%.
- Family private medical healthcare, including worldwide travel insurance.
- Income protection and 4x Death in Service cover.
- On-site staff gym.
