We're hiring on behalf of a leading residential provider for a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Operative to join their on-site team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to step into a visible, resident-facing role that blends maintenance with day-to-day service and safety support.
You'll be the go-to person for general repairs, compliance support, and site upkeep - helping to ensure the property is safe, functional, and welcoming for all residents.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Carrying out day-to-day maintenance across the site - minor plumbing tasks (e.g. fixing leaks, blocked drains, replacing fittings), plus basic electrical and carpentry jobs
- Supporting seasonal upkeep, internal and external repairs, and small refurbishments
- Checking HVAC systems (e.g. filter replacements, minor diagnostics) and assisting with plant room upkeep
- Completing regular site inspections: fire safety, emergency lighting, risers, bin stores, and security features
- Logging and escalating faults, managing compliance routines
- Coordinating resident appointments and contractor visits, ensuring works are completed to standard
- Maintaining digital records for inspections, repairs, and compliance tasks
- Providing great customer service with a professional, friendly attitude
What We're Looking For:
- Strong experience in property maintenance or facilities roles
- A background or qualification in plumbing is highly desirable
- Confident in a wide range of minor repairs - from pipes to panels to plant checks
- Highly organised, proactive, and responsive to requests
- Comfortable using digital tools for task tracking and reporting
- A team player who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, tidy, and well-maintained
- Eligible to work in the UK and fluent in English
- Desirable: NVQ or trade qualifications (plumbing, electrical, or general maintenance)
- Experience in planned/preventative maintenance
- Fire marshal, first aid, or health & safety training (or happy to train)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
