About the Opportunity
Our client, a vertically integrated property development group, is seeking an experienced Construction Procurement & Commercial Manager to join their Construction Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, reporting to the Construction Director and Projects (Design) Director, where you'll play a pivotal role in driving commercial excellence across their portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Construction Team to translate project briefs into practical, deliverable site execution plans
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, including subcontractors and consultants
- Lead and support procurement activities across complex, multi-stakeholder construction programmes
- Manage subcontractor performance, including variations, claims, change control and contractual matters
- Ensure site teams adhere to commercial protocols, legal requirements and contractual obligations
- Leverage company capabilities to shape long-term strategic direction for the Construction Team and broader organisation
- Provide commercial guidance and oversight throughout project lifecycles
Essential Requirements
- CSCS card holder
- Degree qualified (or demonstrable equivalent experience)
- Professional membership: MCIOB / MRICS / MAPM / MICE or similar
- SMSTS certification
- Proven track record on large-scale construction projects (£10million+ value)
- Strong grasp of construction contract law and health & safety legislation
- Demonstrable construction management expertise
- Experience developing and implementing procurement strategies and SOPs
- Excellent negotiation and presentation capabilities
- Strong supply chain management and contract lifecycle experience
- Capability to manage procurement for substantial, complex works packages

Working Pattern
- Office-based: 9:00am - 6:00pm (Central London location)
