Maintenance Technician to join the on-site team at a premium Build-to-Rent (BTR) residential development in Sheffield City Centre.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing sector within the property industry, where you\'ll play a key role in maintaining a high-quality residential community and delivering an exceptional living experience for residents.
Working as part of a professional on-site team, you\'ll take ownership of day-to-day maintenance, repairs, health & safety compliance, contractor management and apartment turnarounds across a modern, large-scale residential development.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across apartments and communal areas.
- Diagnose and complete repairs including carpentry, joinery, painting and decorating, and general maintenance.
- Undertake basic plumbing and minor electrical repairs where appropriate.
- Manage maintenance requests through the CRM system, ensuring service level agreements are consistently achieved.
- Liaise with residents, providing updates and delivering excellent customer service throughout the repair process.
- Support the mobilisation and ongoing operation of the development, including snagging, defect management and contractor coordination.
- Carry out daily inspections of the building, plant rooms and communal areas to ensure health & safety compliance.
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes and statutory compliance requirements.
- Monitor stock levels of tools, equipment and maintenance supplies.
- Manage external contractors, oversee works on site and ensure permits are issued where required.
- Complete apartment inspections before move-ins and after move-outs, carrying out repairs and redecoration to minimise void periods.
- Maintain the appearance of communal areas, external spaces and building facilities to a consistently high standard.
- Move furniture and equipment between apartments as required.
About You
We\'re looking for a proactive and organised maintenance professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys delivering a first-class service.
You'll ideally have
- Previous experience in a maintenance role within residential property, Build-to-Rent (BTR), Private Rented Sector (PRS), Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) or hospitality.
- Strong practical skills in carpentry, joinery, painting and decorating.
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and health & safety compliance.
- An IOSH qualification or Health & Safety certification (desirable).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-first approach.
- Experience coordinating contractors and overseeing maintenance works.
