A well-established residential property organisation is seeking an experienced Housing Defects & Compliance Officer to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a property professional with strong inspection, compliance, and maintenance knowledge to play a key role in ensuring homes remain safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.
Working closely with senior compliance and maintenance leadership, the successful candidate will carry out detailed property inspections, identify defects, oversee compliance requirements, and support the effective delivery of remedial and preventative works across a varied property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out inspections of void and occupied residential properties, identifying defects and required remedial works
- Produce detailed site survey reports and maintenance schedules
- Investigate reported maintenance issues and recommend repair solutions
- Liaise with contractors, maintenance teams, tenants, and internal stakeholders
- Conduct routine compliance inspections to ensure properties meet Health & Safety and licensing standards
- Identify preventative maintenance requirements and escalate high-risk issues where necessary
- Support the out-of-hours emergency maintenance line on a rota basis
- Experience in property inspections, defects identification, or compliance
- Good understanding of property maintenance and Health & Safety requirements
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK Driving Licence essential
- £37,000 basic salary + bonus
