Marketing & Communications Executive - £35k - Croydon

East Croydon | £33,000-£40,000 | Permanent | Office-based

Creative mind. Strong writer. Ready to build a career with substance?

If you love finding a story, asking the right questions and turning ideas into engaging content, this could be the opportunity to take your marketing career somewhere different.

Why consider it?

This is a chance to build a long-term career in marketing and communications within a well-established construction business, working on substantial London developments rather than marketing products from behind a screen.

You'll have direct exposure to senior leadership, work closely with experienced communications professionals and develop a broad skill set spanning content, digital marketing, PR, events and project communications.

Salary: £33,000-£40,000, with flexibility for the right person.

Location: East Croydon, five days a week, with regular site visits.

Working across major commercial construction projects in London, you'll help bring the people, projects and achievements behind the business to life. Think impressive developments, project milestones, industry events and senior-level exposure - with the chance to make the role your own.

You'll join a small, established marketing and communications team led by people with journalistic backgrounds who value good writing, curiosity and original thinking. You won't need to know construction inside out from day one, but you will need the confidence to ask questions, get out onto sites, uncover stories and take ownership.

What will you be doing?

It's a genuinely varied role, combining creative work with the organisation that makes good marketing happen.

  • Content & copywriting: Find stories across live projects, speak to project teams and directors, and turn technical information into clear, engaging content.

  • Social media & digital marketing: Plan and coordinate LinkedIn content, contribute fresh ideas and help grow the company's online presence.

  • Marketing coordination: Keep photography, documents, marketing materials and content calendars organised, with deadlines and details firmly under control.

  • Site visits & photography: Get out to construction sites, capture progress and key milestones, and build relationships with the people delivering the projects.

  • Events & communications: Support industry events, awards, project launches, internal newsletters and residents' communications.

You'll be working across multiple live projects, so there's plenty to get stuck into. One day you could be gathering a story from a site team; the next, drafting a LinkedIn post, coordinating photography or helping bring an event together.

What makes you right for it?

You might already be a Marketing Executive, Marketing Coordinator, Content Executive, Communications Assistant or a strong Marketing Assistant ready for the next step. A background in PR, journalism, copywriting or digital marketing could work just as well.

What matters most is that you:

  • Write confidently and know how to make content clear, interesting and accurate.

  • Are naturally curious, creative and comfortable asking questions.

  • Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs doing.

  • Are organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing deadlines.

  • Have experience with social media, particularly LinkedIn, and understand what makes content engaging.

  • Are happy picking up the phone, chasing information and building relationships across a business.

  • Are comfortable visiting active construction sites and working in a busy, office-based environment.

Construction experience is useful, but not essential. You could come from almost any industry if you have the right skills, mindset and appetite to learn.

If you're creative, commercially minded and ready to take your marketing career seriously, we'd love to hear from you.
