Our client is one of London's most established and design-led residential developers, recognised for delivering some of the capital's most prestigious homes in highly sought-after locations.
Operating through a fully integrated model that spans acquisition, planning, architecture, interior design, development management and delivery, the business has built a reputation for creating residences defined by exceptional design quality, craftsmanship and long-term stewardship.
With a substantial pipeline of projects and a commitment to setting new benchmarks in luxury living, this is an opportunity to join a business where design remains central to every decision.
We are seeking a qualified Architect to join the in‑house Design team as a Design Manager, supporting the delivery of a significant new residential initiative and helping shape some of the most desirable homes in London.
This role will suit an individual who combines strong architectural and technical capability with a genuine passion for detail, design quality and on‑site execution.
The Opportunity
Working closely with senior leadership and external consultant teams, you will play a key role in managing the design process from concept through to completion, ensuring that design intent is protected at every stage and that the finished product meets the highest standards of quality.
You will act as the link between design, delivery and wider business functions, helping to coordinate consultants, challenge proposals, resolve technical issues and ensure that exceptional design translates into exceptional buildings.
A particular emphasis of the role will be design delivery, technical coordination and quality assurance during construction, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys seeing projects through to completion and takes pride in the finished product.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in defining and developing project briefs, ensuring alignment with commercial, operational and design objectives.
- Manage and coordinate external architects, consultants and specialist designers throughout all RIBA stages.
- Review and critique design proposals, ensuring they meet the required standards of quality, functionality and deliverability.
- Contribute to space planning, technical detailing and design development.
- Protect and champion design intent throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams including development, commercial, sales, marketing and operations.
- Review technical information, specifications and consultant deliverables.
- Undertake regular site inspections to monitor quality and ensure execution aligns with approved design.
- Identify risks, resolve technical challenges and support effective project delivery.
- Prepare feasibility studies and assist in evaluating future development opportunities.
- Candidate Profile
We are keen to speak with qualified Architects (Part III) with a strong track record delivering high‑end residential projects.
You will ideally offer
- Experience across all RIBA work stages, from concept design through to construction and handover.
- Proven delivery experience within prime or super‑prime residential projects.
- Strong technical and detailing capability, including specifications and construction information.
- Excellent understanding of current legislation, building standards and design coordination.
- Experience managing external consultant teams.
- Strong spatial planning and design sensibility.
- Confidence working on site and engaging directly with contractors and specialist trades.
- A collaborative approach combined with the confidence to challenge, influence and solve problems.
