Block Manager - West London

We are seeking an experienced, process driven Block Manager to oversee the external and internal packages on a major construction project (400+ units).

Our client is looking for a strong No.2 on site , who will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure smooth coordination of works, maintaining programme schedules, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. This is a 12 month freelance role paying a competetive day rate for the right person (CIS). The role has an ASAP start date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all external and internal works within the assigned block, ensuring quality, safety, and programme adherence.

• Manage subcontractors and ensure works are progressing in line with project timelines.

• Conduct site inspections to maintain high standards of workmanship and health & safety compliance.

• Liaise with the Project Manager, Site Managers, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and problem-solving.

• Monitor and report on progress, quality, and safety issues to senior management.

• Ensure compliance with building regulations, company policies, and HSE guidelines .

• Attend and contribute to site meetings , providing updates and solutions to any on-site challenges.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Block Manager / Site Manager in construction, ideally within residential or commercial projects .

• Strong knowledge of external works (facades, cladding, roofing, groundworks) and internal packages (fit-out, M&E coordination, finishes).

• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
