A respected and growing construction contractor is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop their career while working alongside an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor on two live student accommodation schemes. The successful candidate will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, supporting the commercial delivery of fast-paced, high-value developments from procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with the commercial management of two projects
  • Supporting subcontract procurement and package management
  • Preparing valuations, cost reports, and financial forecasts
  • Assisting with subcontractor payments and variations
  • Monitoring project costs and helping maintain budget control
  • Supporting the preparation of final accounts
  • Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying or Assistant QS role
  • Experience within construction, residential, or accommodation projects preferred
  • Strong numerical and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard QS software
  • Degree qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is advantageous
