The Opportunity
Our client is an innovative logistics technology scale-up headquartered in London, building modern software to solve complex supply chain, fulfilment, and last-mile delivery problems. Their platform is used by major retailers, warehouses, and logistics providers to manage operations smarter, faster, and more efficiently.
With continued growth and fresh funding, theyre hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead one of their cross-functional delivery squads. This is a leadership role where youll help shape technical direction, drive engineering excellence, and mentor a growing teamall while working on technology that directly impacts real-world movement of goods.
This is a full-time hybrid role , with just 1 day a fortnight on-site in their London HQ .
What Youll Be Doing
- Leading a team of backend engineers working in .NET Core and Azure
- Driving high-quality delivery of features that solve supply chain and operational challenges
- Mentoring and developing engineers at all levels
- Collaborating closely with product, UX, and ops stakeholders
- Helping define architecture and contributing to scaling efforts
- Improving engineering processes and fostering a healthy, high-performing culture
- Supporting hiring and onboarding as the team grows
What Were Looking For
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead with people responsibilities
- Strong background in backend development (ideally in .NET Core)
- Experience building systems with real-time performance, scalability, and reliability
- Comfortable working in Agile, cross-functional environments
- Hands-on experience with cloud services (Azure preferred), CI/CD, and microservices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to align engineering with product goals
- London-based or able to attend on-site 1x per fortnight
Nice to Have
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or real-time operations platforms
- Familiarity with routing, scheduling, or order tracking systems
- Knowledge of distributed systems, message queues, or event-driven architecture
- Exposure to data-heavy or IoT-connected environments
