Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a large-scale legacy platform modernisation project. This is a contract opportunity ideal for a hands-on engineer with deep Java expertise and a passion for clean, scalable engineering.
You will be part of a dedicated feature team responsible for the conversion and migration of legacy applications, working closely with stakeholders to design and deliver robust, cloud-based solutions. This role combines strong practical software engineering and a sharp focus on quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on end-to-end migration of legacy application repositories.
- Design and build scalable, high-performance solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
- Execute modernisation strategies aligned with business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and ensure timely, quality delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Java Developer with knowledge of Spring frameworks.
- Strong background in legacy system migration, ETL processes, and modern software architecture.
- Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and low-latency systems.
- Proficiency in cloud services.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Exposure to modernisation at scale and cloud-native technologies.
