As a Derbyshire Constabulary Police Cadet, you'll be taking the first step towards a long career in policing. Join the Glossop team and be part of this amazing experience! You'll take part in weekly cadet meetings, social action projects and local initiatives aimed at raising the profile of young people in the county and giving you a real insight into policing.

As part of the process you will be expected to attend an assessment centre for Senior Cadets: Wednesday 12th August 2026.

As well as experiencing the different areas of policing such as task force, dog section, road policing unit and other operational teams, the scheme is structured to allow you to attain your Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
You will need to be between the ages of 13-18 years old (Academic years 9 to 13 as of September 2026). We welcome cadets from any background, social group, gender, ethnicity, ability/disability and whether you have an interest in the police or not.
