Develop’s Software Engineering team have been engaged exclusively to build a brand-new product team for an innovative health and wellbeing tech start-up creating a next-generation wellness platform. The product is being built entirely from the ground up, with a privacy-first, AI-driven approach designed to genuinely improve people’s lives. This is an opportunity to join early, shape a flagship Android application, and play a key role in building a product that aims to do something meaningful.

The Opportunity

  • Build and own a native Android application using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
  • Work on a product where AI & ML are embedded from day one, not bolted on later
  • Develop on-device, privacy-preserving features (no data harvesting, no shortcuts)
  • Collaborate with a small, experienced team who have built and scaled products before
  • Influence technical decisions, architecture, and user experience from the start

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and maintaining a high-quality Android app using Kotlin & Jetpack Compose
  • Integrating with shared Kotlin Multiplatform modules for business logic and data handling
  • Implementing on-device ML features for personalised user experiences
  • Building integrations with Google Fit and Health Connect for wearable data
  • Working closely with design to deliver accessible, polished Material Design UI
  • Optimising performance across devices, screen sizes, and Android versions
  • Supporting Play Store submissions and release management

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
  • Solid understanding of modern Android architecture components and patterns
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with TensorFlow Lite and on-device ML is a plus
  • Passion for building performant, accessible mobile applications
  • Comfortable in early-stage environments where ownership and initiative matter
  • Strong preference for candidates with industry experience
