I’m working with a business looking to hire a Content Designer with strong GEO and SEO expertise to drive how content is structured, optimised, and scaled across global markets. This role is focused on maximising visibility beyond traditional search, ensuring the brand is discoverable not just in SERPs, but across AI-driven platforms, LLMs, and non-owned channels.
You’ll play a key role in shaping how content performs across 5+ international markets, driving awareness, traffic, and engagement through well-structured, search-optimised, and machine-readable content. It’s a full-stack content role, meaning you’ll be responsible for both designing content systems and creating/managing content within a CMS environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing scalable content systems that support omnichannel delivery and machine readability
- Defining metadata, taxonomy, and schema strategies to improve search visibility and AI retrieval
- Building structured, reusable content models aligned to headless CMS environments
- Applying semantic content design principles to future-proof content across platforms
- Developing SEO and GEO-led frameworks to optimise content across multiple markets and languages
- Ensuring content aligns with search intent, localisation needs, and regional relevance
- Driving visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms
- Partnering with analytics and SEO teams to measure performance and continuously optimise
- Structuring and authoring content so it can be effectively interpreted by AI tools and generative search platforms
- Ensuring clarity, context, and consistency for AI-driven surfacing (e.g. summaries, answers, overviews)
- Supporting the shift from keyword-led to entity-based and semantic search strategies
- Working closely with UX, design, engineering, and CMS teams to embed structured content approaches
- Creating documentation, standards, and governance models for scalable content delivery
- Producing and managing content within CMS platforms (including tools like Contentful)
What they’re looking for:
- Strong experience in Content Design, UX Writing, or Content Strategy (typically 7+ years)
- Deep understanding of SEO principles and modern semantic search
- Experience working with global content (GEO), localisation, and multi-market strategies
- Hands-on experience with structured content, metadata, and headless CMS platforms
- Ability to design scalable content systems and frameworks, not just write content
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to clearly communicate content decisions
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with product, design, engineering, and analytics teams
Nice to have:
- Experience with structured data/schema markup (e.g. JSON-LD)
- Exposure to writing content for AI/LLM consumption or retrieval
- Experience collaborating with developers on content models and CMS architecture
- Understanding of accessibility (WCAG), inclusive design, and plain language principles
- Experience working in complex, multi-market organisations
What success looks like:
- Content that performs strongly across search and AI-driven discovery platforms
- Scalable content systems that enable localisation, reuse, and consistency across markets
- Clear frameworks and standards adopted across teams
- Improved organic performance, visibility, and user engagement metrics
- Content that consistently meets user needs while strengthening brand presence globally
