We are supporting a well-established organisation in the search for an IT Director to lead technology strategy during a significant period of growth and transformation. This is a newly created position reporting directly to the CEO, offering the opportunity to become the senior technology leader within a business that is bringing key functions back in-house and investing in its future operating model.
The organisation operates within a highly data-driven environment and is looking for someone who can provide strategic technology leadership, oversee key technology partners, and ensure systems, platforms and vendors work seamlessly together. This is not a role focused on managing large engineering or infrastructure teams. Instead, it is an opportunity for an experienced technology leader to shape technology strategy, lead business systems transformation, manage vendor relationships, and guide major platform decisions across the organisation.
A key focus of the role will be overseeing the selection, implementation and integration of a new CRM and ticketing platform whilst ensuring technology supports the wider growth ambitions of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Define and deliver the organisation's technology strategy and roadmap
- Act as the primary technology advisor to the CEO and leadership team
- Lead technology initiatives supporting a wider organisational transformation programme
- Oversee the selection, implementation and optimisation of CRM and ticketing platforms
- Manage relationships with external technology vendors, partners and service providers
- Ensure systems, platforms and third-party solutions integrate effectively across the organisation
- Provide oversight of APIs, integrations and data flows between internal and external systems
- Review existing technology capabilities and identify opportunities for improvement and scalability
- Drive best practice across technology governance, cybersecurity, compliance and risk management
- Work closely with stakeholders across all departments to ensure technology supports business objectives
- Support technology procurement, vendor selection and platform investment decisions
- Previous experience in an IT Director, Head of Technology, Head of IT or similar senior technology leadership position
- Proven experience delivering technology strategy within SME or scaling organisations
- Strong experience managing external technology vendors and outsourced service providers
- Experience selecting, implementing or managing CRM platforms and business-critical systems
- Understanding of ticketing, workflow or customer engagement platforms
- Strong knowledge of systems integration, APIs and vendor-led technology environments
- Ability to operate as a standalone technology leader and trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
- Experience balancing strategic planning with hands-on problem solving
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, governance and technology risk management
