We are partnering with a fast-growing fintech brand that is scaling quickly and they are now looking to hire a highly experienced SDET. In this role you will design, build and maintain automated test solutions across UI, API, integration and unit testing layers, working closely with development and product teams to embed quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle. You will contribute to a culture of engineering excellence within the QA function.
We are looking for someone who will work across the engineering teams to drive testing best practice while jumping into coding when needed. This is a high visibility role with the opportunity to have high ownership across testing strategy.
Key Areas of Responsibility:- Design and implement automated test suites covering UI (end-to-end), API, integration, and unit testing, taking ownership and setting the standards, in collaboration with the Engineering Leads
- Build and maintain Playwright-based E2E tests and framework using TypeScript
- Develop and maintain API test collections using Postman
- Write and maintain unit and Spring Boot integration tests in Java and JavaScript, in collaboration with developers
- Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI and delivery pipelines and monitor pipeline health
- Champion quality engineering practices across the wider team
- Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript and TypeScript, including asynchronous patterns
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end UI testing
- Experience writing and maintaining API tests with Postman
- Understanding of unit and integration testing principles and frameworks, Mockito, JUnit, Spring Boot tests, Testcontainers, LocalStack
- Familiarity with CI and delivery pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of core development AWS technical stack: EC2, RDS Instances, Lambdas, SQS Queues, CloudFormation, S3 Buckets, Log Streams, SNS
- SQL Scripting and Schema
- Mobile testing with Appium
- Comfortable working in IntelliJ IDEA and/or Visual Studio Code
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience in a test automation or SDET role
- Demonstrable experience building or maintaining Playwright (or equivalent) E2E frameworks
- Track record of writing and integrating API tests into automated pipelines
- Experience contributing to or owning CI and delivery pipeline configuration
- Experience writing unit and integration tests alongside development teams
- Background working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams
