We are looking for an experienced, hands-on IT Operations Manager contractor to provide immediate operational cover and help stabilise our clients IT environment. This is not a pure helpdesk role. We need someone who can combine day-to-day IT support with strong operational judgement, process ownership, documentation, access control, and device management. The right person will be comfortable stepping into a fast-moving environment, quickly understanding existing systems and dependencies, and making sensible, low-risk improvements without needing heavy supervision.
Core Priorities
- Ensure continuity of day-to-day IT support across HQ, Factory and remote users
- Remove key-person dependency by documenting accounts, ownership, processes and escalation routes
- Support the ongoing NinjaOne / MDM rollout and device enrollment
- Improve joiner, mover and leaver processes
- Maintain and improve the IT asset register
- Ensure critical IT documentation is centralised, current and accessible
- Identify risks, gaps and quick wins in IT operations, security and support processes
- Provide clean handover to the permanent hire once appointed
Experience Required
- Strong hands-on IT operations / IT management experience
- Experience supporting both macOS and Windows environments
- Experience with MDM / endpoint management tools; NinjaOne experience is highly desirable
- Strong SaaS administration experience, especially Google Workspace and Slack
- Good understanding of access control, permissions, groups and admin roles
- Experience managing joiner, mover and leaver processes
- Ability to work independently and make sensible operational decisions
- Good stakeholder communication across technical and non-technical users
- Evidence of improving IT processes, not just responding to tickets
Highly Desirable
- Experience in a scale-up, ecommerce, manufacturing, fulfilment or operational environment
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Stripe, Meta Business Manager or similar business-critical SaaS tools
- Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Bash or Python
- Experience working alongside engineering teams
