Overview
Our public sector client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer (NetDevOps) to join a complex, enterprise-scale environment. This is a hands-on role where you will design, build, and evolve modern network and cloud infrastructure, combining deep networking expertise with automation and cloud engineering practices. You will play a critical role in improving reliability, scalability, and security, while driving automation and modernisation across infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance enterprise network infrastructure across data centres, hybrid, and cloud environments
- Implement secure, resilient, and scalable network architectures supporting critical services
- Deliver and maintain hybrid connectivity across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or OCI)
- Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls aligned with Zero Trust principles
- Design and operate high-availability network solutions including routing, segmentation, and resilience
- Develop and maintain automation workflows using Python, Ansible, or Terraform
- Contribute to CI/CD-driven infrastructure deployments, particularly into cloud environments
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to align with best practices and standards
- Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge sharing
- Manage work backlogs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF in complex environments
- Proven ability to design and implement secure, resilient network architectures
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments
- Extensive experience with Palo Alto firewalls
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust networking principles
- Policy design across on-prem and cloud environments
- Experience with VXLAN, EVPN, VRF segmentation, and multi-site fabrics
- Familiarity with Arista technologies (or equivalent)
- Load balancing experience (e.g., F5 BIG-IPASM, APM, LTM)
Experience Profile
- Proven track record as a Network / Infrastructure Engineer in large-scale environments
- Strong background in design and build, not just operations/support
- Ability to contribute quickly with minimal ramp-up
- Comfortable working across multiple concurrent workstreams
- Experience in complex or regulated environments is beneficial
