develop are working with their London based local authority client to source a Head of PMO to support a high-profile transformation portfolio. This role forms part of a broader organisational change programme driven by recent political and strategic developments within the council.
You will play a pivotal role in establishing and embedding programme governance, delivery frameworks, and PMO best practices across a complex and diverse portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the setup and ongoing management of PMO frameworks and governance structures
- Drive consistency and best practice across large-scale transformation programmes
- Oversee and coordinate delivery activity across multiple service areas within the council
- Provide programme-level reporting, assurance, and stakeholder management
- Embed robust programme controls, processes, and delivery standards
- Support transformation initiatives spanning both digital and operational change
- Work across a varied portfolio including services such as libraries, parking, and wider public services
- Proven experience in senior PMO roles within large, complex local authority environments
- Strong track record of establishing and scaling PMO functions in local government
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide transformation and organisational change programmes
- Excellent stakeholder management and governance expertise
- Comfortable operating across both operational and digitally driven programmes
- Self-sufficient and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced transformation setting
- Contract Length: Initial 3 months - long term opportunity on a rolling contract
- Location: Remote (UK-based) - first day laptop/onboarding pick up from London site
- IR35 Status: Outside IR35
- Rate: Negotiable
