Turn data and AI into meaningful business impact
What if the next step in a data analytics career was not simply leading a bigger team, but shaping how an entire international business uses data, analytics and AI?
A leading global consumer goods organisation is looking for a Director of Data Analytics & AI to build on its established data platforms and AI foundations, scaling their impact across regions and global functions.
This is a broad, commercially focused leadership role for someone who enjoys setting direction, influencing senior stakeholders and getting personally involved in the initiatives that matter mos
The opportunity
The organisation has already invested in its core data and AI capabilities. The next chapter is about making them work harder: improving commercial decision-making, scaling successful solutions, enabling regional teams and delivering measurable business outcomes.
The successful candidate will shape the enterprise data and analytics strategy, guide AI enablement and ensure that platforms, governance and shared services remain fit for purpose.
They will work across commercial, supply chain, finance and other functions, identifying opportunities where data and AI can make a tangible difference.
What will the role involve?
- Shape global strategy: Set the direction for enterprise data analytics, AI enablement, platforms and governance.
- Drive commercial value: Identify and develop opportunities across supply and demand planning, pricing, promotions, revenue growth management and commercial optimisation.
- Scale what works: Enable regional teams to develop their own capabilities using shared platforms, standards and reusable solutions.
- Make AI practical: Drive intelligent automation, productivity improvements and responsible AI adoption, focusing on real business problems.
- Strengthen the foundations: Oversee master data management, data governance, architecture and engineering standards.
- Lead through influence: Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, manage technology partners and focus investment on the highest-value priorities.
- Stay hands‑on: Personally shape selected strategic initiatives, from defining the problem and building the business case to securing stakeholder alignment and overseeing governance.
Who will thrive here?
This role is likely to appeal to an established data analytics leader who is ready to take a broader enterprise remit and step into a Director‑level position.
They will bring experience of building or scaling data analytics capabilities in a complex organisation, ideally within FMCG, CPG, consumer goods or retail.
Experience in supply chain analytics or revenue growth management would be particularly valuable, alongside a strong understanding of how data can improve commercial performance.
They will also be comfortable navigating ambiguity, challenging priorities constructively and influencing stakeholders across different functions and geographies.
A strong data analytics foundation is essential. Experience applying AI and automation to relevant business challenges is highly desirable, while knowledge of Databricks, Power BI and the Microsoft data ecosystem would be advantageous.
Just as importantly, this is a hands‑on role. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a lean structure, shaping solutions personally and leading through credibility rather than relying on a large hierarchy.
Why consider it?
- A genuine opportunity to influence enterprise‑wide data and AI strategy.
- Broad exposure across commercial, supply chain and global functions.
- The chance to scale established capabilities rather than start from scratch.
- Direct engagement with senior business stakeholders and regional leaders.
- A role combining strategic influence, commercial impact and practical delivery.
Package
- Salary up to £150,000, depending on experience.
- 30% annual bonus
- 30% long‑term incentive plan.
- Hybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
For a data analytics leader ready to broaden their impact and help shape how a global consumer business uses data and AI, this is an opportunity to explore.
