Global Commodity & Hedging Manager in Chiswick, London | Hybrid (3-4 days office) £75,000 - £85,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Shape the commodity strategy of a global FMCG business. We're partnering with a leading global food manufacturer to appoint a Global Commodity & Hedging Manager into their Global Ingredients team. This is a high-impact, commercially focused role where you'll combine commodity market intelligence, quantitative analysis and financial risk management to influence sourcing decisions across a global manufacturing network.

Working alongside Global Category Managers and Procurement Leadership, you'll provide actionable insight on key raw materials including cocoa, wheat, sugar and vegetable oils, helping the business manage market volatility and optimise purchasing strategies.

While experience within agricultural commodities is advantageous, we're equally interested in professionals from metals, energy or broader commodity markets with strong analytical and hedging expertise.

What you'll be doing:

  • Produce market intelligence and commodity research covering global agricultural, energy and industrial commodities.
  • Build and maintain supply, demand and price forecasting models.
  • Analyse macroeconomic, geopolitical and market fundamentals to identify pricing risks and opportunities.
  • Develop commodity outlooks and recommendations that directly influence global procurement decisions.
  • Design and support commodity hedging strategies using futures, options, swaps and other financial instruments.
  • Monitor global hedge positions, exposure reporting and governance compliance.
  • Partner with senior procurement stakeholders on sourcing strategy and supplier negotiations.
  • Support the continued digitisation of procurement through improved analytics, reporting and market intelligence tools.
  • Present complex market analysis to senior commercial stakeholders across multiple international regions.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Good experience within Commodity Research, Commodity Risk, Hedging or Commodity Market Analysis.
  • Experience working in commodities such as agriculture, metals or energy.
  • Strong understanding of commodity price drivers, supply & demand fundamentals and global markets.
  • Experience with commodity hedging and financial risk management.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments including futures, options and swaps.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with advanced Excel capability.
  • Experience building forecasting, econometric or statistical models.
  • The ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear commercial recommendations.

We'd especially like to hear from candidates currently working within:

  • FMCG Commodity Procurement or Market Intelligence Teams.
  • Commodity Trading Houses.
  • Commodity Merchants.
  • Agricultural Processors.
  • Commodity Risk or Research Teams.
  • Investment Banks (Commodity Desks).
  • Energy, Metals or Agricultural Commodity Markets.
